Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Mechanical Engineer role will cover routine GAS ENGINES (MTU / Wartsila) maintenance, emergency repairs, and long-term improvements of mechanical systems.
Maintenance and Repair
- Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and inspections to ensure the gas engines and associated mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure the availability of required spare parts.
Operations Support
- Provide technical support to the operations team, ensuring that the plant meets its power generation targets.
- Implement operational strategies to minimize downtime and maximize power output.
Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and analyze system performance and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement best practices in maintenance and operations to improve reliability and efficiency.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance and operational activities are conducted in compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
Project Management
- Lead and manage projects related to the upgrade and optimization of mechanical systems within the plant.
- Supervise and guide teams of technicians and junior engineers in project execution.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance data, and inventory levels.
- Prepare daily reports, Weekly reports , Monthly reports & technical reports and analyzes for management review.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering having 10 Years of experience.
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of MTU / Wartsila gas engine power plants
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, compressors, and pumps.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Willingness to work in shifts and be available for emergency callouts.
- Experience with energy efficiency projects and sustainability practices.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
